Venues

Cremona's Ponchielli TheatreMaestro by Tumlare has a wealth of performing arts connections, allowing us to pair the unique offerings of your ensemble with expertly selected venues to present your craft or fine-tune your technique.  Imagine your choir’s voices resonating through St. Peter’s Basilica while participating in Mass, or your orchestra strengthening their music during a formal rehearsal at the historic Haydnsaal within Eisenstadt’s Eszterházy Palace.  Orvieto’s grand Teatro Mancinelli, a horseshoe theater located in the hills of Umbria, makes a stunning location for your concert finale.  Our venues extend well beyond traditional theaters and churches:  your string orchestra can perform in Paris’ Luxembourg Gardens, the marching band can herald the crowds as they march along the uniquely intact Roman walls of Lucca, and your choir might even provide an impromptu concert at the airport, enroute to your destination.

Venue selection is an opportunity for collaboration between the director and Maestro by Tumlare’s consultants.  We will request recent recordings of your music, biographies of the director and ensemble, proposed repertoire, and preferences for types of venues.  These important details are combined with practical information, such as the number of performers, their instrumentation, and the season you are traveling in.  From here our team of European experts will work with their local contacts to identify the best opportunities to provide appropriate and engaging venues, complete with an enthusiastic audience.  There is an arena for every ensemble, but one stage does not fit all.

What’s with the Dolphins?

We are often asked about our logo and mascots, “What’s with the dolphins?”…”You are specialists in performance and education tours, right?  Or are you an aquarium?”  And our answer is always, “It’s a long story. Yes. NO.”
