Opera appreciation and dance troupes are a sample of the varied types of performing groups who travel with Maestro by Tumlare.  In addition to presenting their own performances, opera scholars can attend concerts at unique venues such as the Arena di Verona, during the opera season, and dance troupes can see the La Scala Theatre Ballet perform in Milan, one of the oldest and most renowned companies in the world.  Opportunities are plentiful for theater groups as well, including workshops at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and apprenticeships at popular London productions and theatres.

As part of the Tumlare family, we are well equipped to share our expertise in specialized themes as diverse as violin making, art, history, sports, architecture, politics, farming, gastronomy, special events, pilgrimages, shopping, bird watching, and much more.  You might consider following in the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci or other historic luminary.  Our local team of experts both live and work in the European destinations that we offer, and have invaluable knowledge supportive to the design and planning of these thematic programs.

Venice's Grand Canal

Gondolas on the Grand Canal

DESTINATION:  Venice, Italy   The Renaissance city of Venice is not only one of the most beautiful and unique cities built by man, but served as the epicenter of trade between Europe and the Far East.   The famous Ponte di Rialto crosses Venice’s most important waterway, the Grand Canal; a labyrinth of smaller bridges unite the 117 small islands that comprise the city where water ways function as roads and highways.  Within the greater lagoon are located the gems of Murano and Burano, known respectively for their glass blowing and lace making.

FUN FACT:  Venice is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi.  The Four Seasons composer worked in the early 18th century as chorus master and violin teacher to the orphans, now chronicled at the Piccolo Museo della Pieta “Antonio Vivaldi”.
